They say women are supposed to be home makers- to clean, nurture and to cook. Don’t meddle in men’s affairs, be silent, stay in a corner or go read a book. Imagine a man dictating what I shall and shall not do.
I thought we were making strides, isn’t this 2023 ?
Because I am a female, I am told to take my place.
Don’t overstep my boundaries but move at my partner’s pace.
I’m from a certain background, so I definitely do not deserve nice things. Last time I checked, we run the world- Yall have to be seriously joking. Countless girls across the globe denied an education.
For fear of what we can achieve with our determination.
That’s a man domain, this is no place for girls
Remember the Polytechnic mass shooting that rocked the entire world? Disgraceful to think that you only see me as a wife. Can you fathom what else I am capable of other than bringing life ?
They kidnap us and torture us for their own fantasy
Are you that intimidated by our perseverance, drive and tenacity ? And how is inequality still a thing, being paid less than our counterparts? We can draw house plans, implement policies, and analyze data and charts.
So don’t you dare tell me that my work and skills aren’t worth paying for.
We will not stay silent or afraid, rest assured, we’ll start a war. We have to beg for the field to be leveled, and this should not be. We still have to fight and march and beg just for a little penny ? Withholding funds as a means of control should never happen to anyone.
We demand the same spending power as Mike, Stephen and John. We insist on having our voices heard, so that you know our plea. If you were in this predicament, would you be genuinely happy? We ought to feel safe and confident when challenging the status quo, to secure a brighter future and a better tomorrow.
Don’t you dare downplay our trials or censor our feminist channels. The more you resist, the louder we get, this is an ideal we’ve got to dismantle. Changing the narrative is the end goal, at least for us it seems. We need to know that we are not being ignored even if we have to scream
Can we also talk about emotional and mental abuse?
The mind games and manipulation of what we are allowed to do ? Your intention is to break us so we don’t stand a chance. It’s like you want to think for us, pull strings and tell us when to dance. It’s hard enough as female but we are mentally strong, You can do as you like and get away with it but not for too long.
Once we’ve made our minds up, we are going to win
We have been unfaired for too long, our patience has been stretched thin. So my queens, rise up and be fearless against all odds. Nobody else can charter your path for you, that’s God’s only job. Be empowered, bold and confident by being true to you. Overcome everything they throw at us- let our resilience shine through!
