Jesus is my CEO

Jesus is my Chief Executive Officer – C.E.O.  What does that mean?  Well, what is a C.E.O?

According to the corporate finance institute.com, “a C.E.O. is the top-ranking individual within an organization they have considerable responsibility and influence within the firm.  The C.E.O. reports directly to and is ultimately accountable to the firm’s board of directors, this individual is responsible for the ultimate success or failure of the organization.”

Therefore, the C.E.O. of an organization is the manager, the one who has the responsibility of ensuring the success of the organization.  As wgu.edu put it, “Ultimately, the growth of a business falls on the shoulders of a CEO.”  He or she therefore must have a vision for the company and a plan for how the vision can be obtained.

However,  although the C.E.O. is responsible for charting the organization’s course, they need the help of the employees for the organization to get there.  The C.E.O. may have a vision and a plan on how to achieve that vision, but unless he has the support and cooperation of the employees in the organization, that vision will not be accomplished.  That being the case, the employees and C.E.O. must work hand in hand for the organization to succeed.

So, if Jesus is my C.E.O., he is in essence, my manager and thus has the responsibility for ensuring the success of my life.  He has left the Bible as my guide to spiritual prosperity which is one aspect of my life, he wants to see successful. He has left me his Holy Spirit, which gives me directives specific to the course of my physical life to ensure I am successful in fulfilling my purpose.  He has done his part.

As his employee, I must now follow his guidelines to facilitate these goals.  From a spiritual perspective, he has left commandments that I must follow to be a successful Christian so that my spirit will prosper.  He has outlined, in his word, for me to succeed spiritually.  He expects I should “love” my “neighbor as” myself as outlined in Matthew 22:39.  Additionally, as a female, he expects my dress to be modest, as outlined in 1 Timothy 2:9.

Where my physical life is concerned, he has a purpose for me, in the same way he has one for you.  However, to achieve it, I must accept his will and follow his directives to get there.  So, what does it mean to say that Jesus is my C.E.O.?  It means he’s our boss, he knows best, and we must follow his directives and work with him to have success.
