I overcame my fears

Something interesting happened a couple of months ago when I started my Writers Bootcamp.

I’m sure you know, how one often has this feeling of fear when you are about to start a new venture, a new job, a business, and such. That was how I felt before we started the Bootcamp.

I remember when I announced that I was starting, my thoughts were blank, and I was scared. What if nobody shows up, what if nobody signs up what if, what if?  I had all these, WHAT ifs. However, I said to myself, even if nobody signs up, I will still write my book. I was determined that I was going to write and I’m going to learn some lessons along the way. I already had the template for the next book prepared and I was ready to go.

I remember sitting there just two days after I had the first session with the participants. Just listening to them filled my heart with so much joy. I thought to myself, what if I had not started, I would never have gotten to be a blessing to others because I was so full of fear. You know, I truly believe that fear is just a mirage. It often appears more real than it is. The acronym for F.EA.R does sum up what it is. It is False Evidence Appearing Real. The enemy would often try and intimidate us with fear. We must not give room to him.

I want to encourage somebody reading this, don’t let fear hold you hostage. Don’t let fear hold you bound. Don’t let fear dictate to you how far you can go, Tell Yourself “Whatever God has called me to do. I’m going to step out & I’m going to start it. It doesn’t matter, even if I’m scared, I’m going to just step out afraid and God is going to help me.”

Let me leave you with this verse, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power and love and self-control.”- 2nd Timothy 1:7.  No matter what the enemy throws at you, you can overcome your fears because God is there to help you.

Pastor Olabode this a good writeup, I learnt a lesson that we should not allow Satan to create fear in us because work of Satan is to create fear and the moment you allow it, it is finish. So we have to ban Satan in our life and hold on to Jesus the author and finisher of our life, and rebuke the spirit if fear in us. 2nd Tim 1 vs 7 tell us. “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power and love and self-control.
